I hope this post will be a handy reference guide, especially for those teachers new to social media technologies and how to integrate them into the classroom. This resource is by no means exhaustive, but it’s a good starting point for finding the information and people that will help you make the transition into a ’21st century learning environment’. I intend for this to be a wikipost (I will update resources as they are shared with me by others), so feel free to bookmark the page and check in periodically for new material. Enjoy.

Anyone aware of other good resources to provide teachers an entry point to social media, please let me know! I don’t want the list to get overwhelming, so simple, concise resources are best.
Awesome list. Wouldn’t it be awesome to feed the doc into a search engine and pull up any associated twitter accounts, then auto generate a Twitter List that corresponds to the post DNA? Or maybe that’s a task for Wave, use it to pull salient links out and fill up databases, then pass them over to humans for voting/vetting, then back to database from and/or Twitter list format….
Def include John Moravec and his educationfutures.com site, consistently solid stuff there.
Ethan Zuckerman at Berkman also dabbles in education, as I’m sure you’re aware, and it’s poignant when he does – ethanzuckerman.com
This is a fantastic list of ways to integrate social media for educators! Another growing social networking community is LearnCentral at http://www.learncentral.org. The site has grown to over 24,000 members that host webinars, share resources and communicate within the community. The community is sponsored by Elluminate and Steve Hargadon is one of the organizers for the community. Gailene Nelson started the network and has facilitated its growth by adding features and resources to help grow the community. It is almost as large as the Classroom 2.0 Ning in less than a year.
Another Web 3.0 Platform for Teachers with easy on-demand access to free third-party applications and large content repository of teacher-developed and teacher-rated teaching resources.
Wow, this is a great post – awesome resources here!
