experimental highlight video 1: unMoney Convergence 2012

.
Here’s a short video assembled from some clips I took at the unMoney Convergence unconference in San Francisco in April.

I’m trying to get into the habit of filming and interviewing wherever I go now, with the intention of getting into more video-based production. This might evolve into a once a week ‘show,’ highlighting cool stuff happening and emerging ideas on the edge. I welcome any feedback on the concept, and if you’re a patron of the arts, let me know if you’re interested in sponsoring upcoming videos.

thanks to Shane Valcich for help with video editing!

Neat. Memorable effects, underscoring the message. Spirit of play in Open Space. Now we need to ask Youtube to fully support portrait format videos.

Hey thanks Venessa – this one and your other videos have become an inspiration for young scientists (at the institute I am working with) to create informal, authentic and relaxed video clips about their work. Science is usually heavy on formality, seniority and end-of-project presentations. It’s going to create a refreshing change, and help the PhDs and post-docs get their stories out and ultimately attract support to help them finish their works. They really were not that comfortable about the whole idea until they saw what you are achieving. Keep on inspiring emergence :) Thanks again.
