This is my first experiment with a webisode. I’d like to develop a weekly “show” <EBD TV> where I interview via skype or visit innovators in person and find out what they’re up to. I’m already doing this anyway, traveling around the country almost weekly. I might as well be recording it so others might get inspired too.

Great interview. As a Burlington native, I’m proud to see this creativity emerging in a smaller metropolitan area. More resources here:

In 2004, one of the ways this was deployed was the Friends of Beslan initiative in which rather than focus on anonymous charitable assistance the emphasis was on using a database to match those wishing to act in compassion to engage directly in the spirit of international friendship and peace.
EBD TV – Great idea! Very informative. Enjoyed it!
great idea! do it!
lovely. bravo.
great first effort at video! the sky’ the limit — Love Amy’s project – she needs to get in touch with Jerry Paffendorf of Loveland who’s been working on a similar system for Detroit. Convergences!
Inspiring project; and nice dense conversation with substantive action focus. Little more “in person” and “on the ground” would be excellent too…and of course a regular spate of infographics 🙂
As far as taking this project toward an “awareness design” mode, maybe look at structuring some themes that will connect across episodes (and media/channels, for that matter). You could take advantage of YouTube’s annotation features and granularly link related segments or supporting material with a pop-up button to send viewers to a particular timecode in another video.
One set of helpful general categories might be this acronymic from Michael Maranda @tropology: Stories, Conversations, Organizations, People, Events–SCOPE …could even chunk up the episodes into a short bit under each of those headings.
oo, i like the SCOPE framework! thank you for sharing!!
and thank you for the information on the youtube annotation. i know nothing about any of that, so just at phase 1 learning
